110 Degree Heat Keeps Me Indoors

With our first baby girl on the way and 110 degree heat outside, It's been a while since I've slithered the ol' gravel paths of any local parks.

But fear not. I'll be hitting the trails again soon and bringing back tales and reviews that are sure to get you thirsty for dirt and craving a good spill.

'Til then, keep the Slayer cranked loud, the Budweiser on ice and I hope to cross you where the winding gets wicked.

Happy Trails,

Snowboarding Squaw Valley - Tahoe - California

There was one team in the 49ers Foundation Celebrity Winter & Wine Fest Celebrity Ski Race with a snowboarder on it. Guess which team won? Guess who that boarder was?The team was team D as in delta, with captain and 1998 and 2002 U.S. Alpine Olimpian, Jonna Mendez, and that boarder was your's truly.

By the way, the killer J. sliced out the two fastest runs of the day with a 17.3 and a 17.6. The later of which I might be off on, but I know her two runs were the fastest. Fast enough to make up for my horrendous meeting with the third gate on the icy, red side of the course, and both times combined were probably faster than my best run of 32-something. Imagine me, a low-rate, scurvy-dog-border getting slalom tips from a two-time Olympic skier, and a damn cute one at that.

I'd like to thank Jonna Mendez, Korbel and the wonderful 49ers Foundation for the most fun day of boarding I've ever experienced.

Thank you all.

If you ever get the chance to contribute to the 49ers Foundation Community Outreach charities, they are great people to work with.
